Dragon Boat Races!
August 17-18, 2013
San Bernardino County Regional Parks
will host the 7th annual Lake Gregory Dragon Boat Races.
Dragon Boat racing is an ancient Chinese sport alive with tradition. Teams of paddlers race against each other in friendly competition. At the sound of the air horn these 40 foot canoes, adorned as dragons, are off to a fast pace across beautiful Lake Gregory.

At South Beach
Lake Gregory is located in the San Bernardino National Forest at an elevation of 4,500 feet and is only 1 1/2 hours from the Los Angeles area.
Novice Teams
Saturday August 17
These teams of 12 paddlers come together for this event. They are generally friends and family from community, employment and social networks.
Must be over 8 years and physically fit.
- Teams of 12 - bring your own full or partial team
- Singles and partial teams will be combined with other teams
- 250 meter race
- Boat, steersperson, drummer, paddles and life vest provided
- Free parking
- South gate opens at 8:30am
- Shuttle for overflow parking
- Race site walk-in registration 8:30am-9:30am, if space available
- Racing starts at 9:00am
- Awards 3:30pm
Race fee: $120.00 for a full team of 12 or $10.00 per person. Includes $5.00 gate fee.
Mail in registration must be postmarked by August 2, 2013.
Flowers on the Water Ceremony
On Saturday at the lunch hour we will have our breast cancer survivor ceremony.
Cancer survivors, their family and friends are invited to board the boats for a ceremony in support of each other and remembrance. The paddlers share a moment of silence before tossing a pink flower into the water.
The dragon boat team LA Pink will again assist us this year.
Breast Cancer Survivor Teams have been established throughout the United States. Dragon Boat racing has been shown to be a positive vehicle for women's wellness and increased strength.

Professional/Club Teams
Sunday August 18
These athlete practice year round and compete in other dragon boat races in the United States and internationally.
Mail in registration must be postmarked by August 2, 2013.

- Gate opens at 7:00 am
- Racing starts at 9am

Race fee: $250.00/Team per category.
Categories: Men's, Women's, Mixed, Masters, Breast Cancer.
300 meter races and 1,000 meter Pursuit Race.
